Aquatic Ape Theory

This weekend some friends and I watched a Ted Video on the Aquatic Ape Hypothesis (AAH) given by Elaine Morgan.  The AAH suggests that the phenotypic differences between humans and apes (bipedalism, fat distribution, hairlessness)  can be explained by a period of time when hominids lived in aquatic environments.  Being interested in the merits of Morgan’s arguments I started looking around for critiques.  I found this and this.  From my cursory reading of these critiques it appears that Morgan makes a lot of claims that are just not true.  Bummer, her quest to take down academia was so exciting!
